Meeting in Frýdek-Místek

A partners‘ meeting at Primary school „Národního umělce Petra Bezruče“ in Frýdek-Místek took part from 19th to 23rd of June, 2006. We had the pleasure to welcome teachers from the following schools :

Primary school of Moni, Greece
Zespol Szkolno-Przedskolny Lamkowie, Poland
C.P.E.I.P. Virgen de la Encina,Spain
Direzione Didattica 2° Circolo Arezzo,Italy

During the week all the partners were evaluating the work on this european project. They checked the fulfilment of the determined targets as well as assessed its contribution to the individual schools. Children’s opinions for the second year topics were presented through the web pages of each school. Here you can see the topics for the second year:

While discussing the partners told each other what positive or negative experience they faced in their schools and what topic seemed to be the most interesting for their pupils.

On Monday, 19th, in the afternoon, all the partners accepted the invitation from the mayoress of Frýdek-Místek town and also from the Board of Eduacion representatives to come to the local townhall and to present there the principles as well as the importance of Comenius Socrates project for all the the parties concerned.

In the next few days chosen pupils who worked best on the project during the school year had the opportunity to spend the whole day together with our foreign visitors in historical town Olomouc. They were told about the history of the town Olomouc and they met the cultural traditions together with a regional folklore.

During the whole week there were many sports and cultural events prepared which were aimed to the recognizing the childrens‘ way of life in each countries. Pupils from the host school in Frýdek-Místek prepared a programme full of beautiful demonstrations of traditions, fascinating exhibitions of food and also a multimedial presentations which had in common just finding the most beautiful and the most important items they could find in the partners‘ towns or countries, of course according to their own opinion.

A lot of useful meetings among the partners and majority of teachers were kept, concerning not only the working matters. The conversation was often engaged in common life affairs, its positive s well as negative sides.

It was very interesting to visit the nursery school „Beruška“ . This nursery school has worked for more than 10 years in an alternative educational programme „Step by step“. Our foreign partners were acquainted with- among others, with the system of preschool education in the Czech Republic and for example with the ways of its financing.

It must be said that the partners‘ meeting in Frýdek- Místek followed the pre-agreed schedule including the third year project preparation with particular topics specification.

This project’s contribution should be in implementation of an european dimension of education in the concrete curriculum, namely thanks to the experience with eduation in different european countries, taking part in this project.

The next partners' meeting will be in the autumn in the school in Arezzo.
